SINO KASEMPA MINERALS LTD. (Hereinafter refers as “Sino Kasempa”), a holding subsidiary of Sinomine Group, recently produced the first batch of 600tons copper concentrates which is ready for sale. It is a milestone for Sinomine for its mineral rights layout in Central and Southern Africa. It also serves as a benchmark for the following mineral rights investment & development projects.

Sino Kasempa owns a large mining license located in Northwestern Province in Zambia, i.e. Shivuma Copper Project. It covers an area of 249.5km2 valid till 2039. Since 2007, Sinomine Group started extensive exploration within the licensed area. The returned results show that Shivuma is a polymetallic deposit. The team not only found a large number of iron deposit but also about found 160,000t indicated copper resources, 2,000,000tons pyrite and other minerals that are commercial for mining.

In 2018, Sinomine Group signed a Joint Development Agreement for Shivuma Project with a Chinese Company. This project formally came into production in October 2020 after two years’ construction. The main products are copper concentrate and pyrite concentrate. The copper concentrate is graded at Cu18-21%, and the pyrite concentrate graded at S35-40%. It is estimated that it will produce 10,000 to 10,000 tons copper concentrate and another 60,000 to 80,000 tons pyrite concentrate in the future.
